Commercial Insurance

Coverage that protects what you've built

Insurance for the businesses that keep Kitsap County running

Running a business in Kitsap County means juggling a hundred decisions a day. Insurance shouldn't be the one that keeps you up at night. Whether you run a contracting outfit out of Port Orchard, a retail shop in Bremerton, or a service business that drives the whole peninsula — we'll help you build a commercial policy that protects what you've worked hard to build.

We write coverage for general liability, commercial property, commercial auto, business owner's policies (BOP), and workers' compensation. We'll take the time to understand how your business actually operates, then build coverage that fits.

Small business protected by commercial coverage

Coverage built around your business

Every business is different. A general contractor and a coffee shop don't need the same policy. We start by understanding what you do, who you do it for, and where the real risk sits — then build coverage from there.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a BOP and general liability?
General liability is one piece — it covers third-party bodily injury and property damage claims. A Business Owner's Policy (BOP) bundles general liability together with commercial property coverage (your building, equipment, inventory) into a single, often-cheaper package. Most small businesses are better off with a BOP if they qualify.
Do I need workers' compensation in Washington?
Washington is one of a handful of states where most workers' comp is run through the state Department of Labor & Industries (L&I), not private insurers. If you have employees, you almost certainly need to be enrolled with L&I. We can walk you through how this fits with the rest of your business coverage.
Does my personal auto policy cover work driving?
Usually not. If you drive your personal vehicle for business — making deliveries, visiting job sites, hauling tools — most personal auto policies have an exclusion for that. Commercial auto coverage closes that gap, and rates are often more reasonable than people expect.
I'm just starting out. Do I really need commercial insurance yet?
If you have a customer, an employee, a contract, or a vehicle used for work — yes. The first claim against a brand-new business is usually the one that ends it. A basic general liability policy is one of the cheapest forms of protection a small business can carry.
How much does commercial insurance cost?
It depends on what you do, your revenue, your payroll, and the coverage you need. A small office-based service business might pay a few hundred dollars a year for general liability. A general contractor with a crew and trucks will pay more. We'll give you a real number, not a guess.
